TPsb Pkbss Association.] ' DUNEDIN, March 4. At the University Senate, the Hon J. A. Tole was re-elected a member of the Board' of Governors of tne Auckland College and Grammar School. The Finance Committee reported that the balanco afc credit of the general account in January was .£2907. The accumulated scholarship account amounted to £12,036. A bonus of £oO was recommended to bo paid to the Registrar, and the Chancellor was recommended to make an appointment of an office assistant at a salary not exceeding .5100 a year. Five bills were put through their final stages. It was resolved that fourteen junior scholarships should be offered in December, 1898, each to be of the annual value of .£3O, tenable for three years, with an addition of £20 per year to holders obliged to live away from "home. The Chancellor was authorised, in the event of any vacancies occurring before Feb. 23, 1898, in the list of junior scholars elected on the examination of 1897, to fill the vacancies from names on the credit list, taken in order, not going beyond the first two names.
