"THE COTTON KING."
» . — This is the title of the drama with •which Mr Bland Holt will inaugurate his short return visit, which will commence at the Theatre Eoyal on Monday evening. The plot is said to be one of exceptionally strong dramatic interest. The staging of the piece will be worthy of Mr Holt's reputation in this respect. The drama is from the pen of Mr Sutton Vane, whose dramatic efforts have become very popular recently under Mr Holt's aegis. Tt was originally produced at the Adeiphi Theatre, London, with Mr Charles Cartwright, Miss Alma Stanley and Mr Herbert Flemming in the cast, and it was received with enthusiasm. Its title suggests American location, but this is not so, as the whole of the story is laid in England, and thus great opportunity is afforded for the presentation of some beautiful and picturesque scenic sketches. Mr Holt's stay on the present occasion is a very limited one, being restricted to ten nights, during which three pieces will be staged. The company left Wellington la6t evening, and is expected to arrive here this afternoon.
