WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN TEMr PERANCE UNION.
[Pbb Pbhss Association.] NAPIER, Mabch 4. At the Women's Christian Temperance Union Convention, the difficulties of the White, Bibbon, the organ of the Union, were discussed. A vote of sympathy was passed with the editor and others concerned in the production. It was resolved to hold the next Convention at Kaiapoi. The election of officers resulted as follows :— President, Mrs Schnackenburg ; corresponding secretary, Mise Powell ; recording secretary, Miss L. M. Kirk ; treasurer, Mrs Hill ; superintendents of departments — Evangelistic, Mrs Kirkland ; juvenile, Mrs Spence; medal contests, Miss Powell; Sabbath ohservarico, Miss Minchin ; missionary, Miss Jack ; young women's work and hygienic and food reform, Mrs Miller ; scientific temperance and instruction and Maori worjt, Mrs Schnackenburg ; unf err monted wine, Mrs Plummer ; influencing the Press, Miss Cole ; mothers' meetings, Miss Garstin ; social purity and rescue work, Mrs Webb ; Bible in schools and peace and arbitration, Miss Dakyinple ; narcotics, Miaq Eose 5 sailors' rests, Mrs Begg ; relief work, Mrs Blaokwell ; legal and parliamentary, Mrs Sheppard and Miss L. M. Kirk ; prison reform, Lady Stout. This closed the business of the largest convention yet held.
