New York, which has for some time had a sinall menagerie in its Central Park, is now soon to have a vast 1 /00. After Borne years of study the plan has been worked out in detail and approved by the authorities Two hundred and sixty-one acrea are to be devoted to the Zoological Park that is to be, the characteristics of whioh are to be those of a well-kept and accessible natural Trilderness. A reservation of land for this purpose has been made in the far j northern portion of the city. New Yorkere ! are truly pleased with the announcement that it will be "the largest thing of its kind in the world."
