STORAGE OF DAIRY PRODUCE.

The Department of Agristrlture has issued a circular in reference to the free storage of butter awaiting shipment at Wellington, Waitara, New Plymouth, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. It says s"lt is proposed to grant free Btorage, including handling in and out of store, for a rnonth or until the earlier loading date of the first available boat. If for any reason the produce is not shipped within the inonth, or by. the first ship whose loading date is 4 during the month, the shipper will be liable for all charges thereafter. All cheese should be at least one month before being sent into store. As only a limited amount of space is available, it is intended to accept small lots only for storage. Large parcels must still be sent direct to ships side, and will be examined before being placed on board. Should, however, any difficulty ari_e in shipping, the Government grader will on application make every endeavour to provide storage, but the Department will aocept no responsibility except in respect of free storage as above mentioned. The Government undertake no duty or liability in connection with storage or shipment of produce, therefore exporters must make their own arrangements for transit to and from store and for shipment (including provision for insurance and protection frem damage and loss of every kind)."
