LAWN TENNIS.
EICHMOND CLUB'S TOUENAMENT. The Richmond Lawn Tennis Club held a Ladies' and Men's Handicap Singles Tournament on the Linwood Club's courts yesterday afternoon. There was a good attendance of members and visitors. Afternoon tea was provided by the lady members. The following are the scores : — LADIES' SINGLES— First ronud: Miss Watkins (owe 40) beat Mrs Marshall (scr), 9-5. Miss Adams (ovre 15) beat Mis 3 Tronnce (receive 15), 9-3. Hiss G. Bassett (wo 15) beat Mrs Hatter (receive 15). Second round: Miss Baesett l>eat Miss Watkins 9-2. Miss Adnras (owe 15), a bye. Final round: Hiss Bassett beat Bliss Adams 9-S MEN'S SrNGLES— First round: G.Milne (owe 15) beat F. Bassett (owe 40) 9-7. A. W. Minson (owe 30) beat H. Aitlcen (Rcr), 9-8. S. Morley (owe 40) beat J. H. Fabling (owe 4-30), 9-1. H. Goodman (owe 30) a bye. F. J. Murray (scr), a bye. O. Watkins (owes 15) beat S. Harper (sef), 9-6. K. Bassett (owe 30), a bye. Second round: G. Milne (owe 15) beat A. W. Mißson (owe 30), 0«7. K. Bassett (owe 30) beat 11. fioodman (owe 30), 9-7. F. J. Murray (scr) beat C. Watkins (owe J5), 9-3. Semi-final— F. J. Murray beat S. Morley 9-1. G. Milne beat K. Eassett 9-0. Tn tte final round G. Milne (owe 15) met F. J. Murray (scr), and -when darkness set in each' player bad scored five games. The round will be continued next Thursday. At the conclusion of tho play a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Linwood Club for the use of the courts.
