THE NINETEENTH CENTURY WOMAN.
(Times-Democrat.) No more from learning's fount shut out, To-day there's not a ringle doubt, Her brother's equal qnite is Bhe, If judged impartially. She is no longer slight or pale, But buoyant, happy, strong and hale; If need be, in the world's great maxt At onca she takes her part. Despite the many modern mocks, She still tho cradle fondly rocksAy, still with loving touch and mien, O'er couch, of pain doth lean. Her heart, e'er tender, trusting, leal, I Besponsivc beats in woe or weal ; ; She at the post of duty stands With dear untiring bunds. She may be found in CDttage home, Or dwell 'neath gilded palace domeIn calico or silken sheen, She's every inch a queen. KATHLEEN KAVANAGI-T.
