The Petitions Committee has decided to report that, as the case of the bookmakers sentenced by Mr Beethain to fourteen days' imprisonment for totalisator betting at Riccarton is still sub jndice, it has no recommendation to make with regard.. to the petition for a remission of the sentence of imprisonment.
