Prohibition League. — The usual weekly meeting of the Christchurch Prohibition League was held on' Friday evening 1 in the Congregational Schoolroom. The Rev T. H. Lyon presided. Correspondence was read from the Premier and Mr G. F. Richardson, M.H.R., with reference to the police inquiry. Arrangements wei. made for a public reception to the President, the Rev F. W. Isitt, on his return to Christchurch. Owing to the removal of Mr and Mrs Palk from Christchurch, it was resolved to tender them a farewell *■'. social. " Attention was drawn to remarks made by Mr Hawkins, S.M., when dealing with a recent sly grog case in the Clutha district, and it was decided to draw .the . attention of the New Zealand Alliance to the matter. The date for the annual meeting was fixed.
