A ballot has been taken among tlie cotton spinning operatives upon the question of the proposed reduction of wages, with the following result : — In favour of accepting the reduction 87, against 18,196.' Mr John Burns advises that failing to secure a guaranteed Trades' Union fund of £15,000 weekly, the engineering strike should be declared at an end.
