WELLINGTON, Sept. 30.
Mr Ryder's house, at Otaki, was destroyed by fire this morning. Nothing was saved. Insurances — ,£2OO on the dwelling with the Northern Company, and .£2OO on the furniture in the Commercial Union. Mr Ryder estimates his loss at .£6OO.
