National Association. — The Council of this Association met at the rooms, Gloucester Street, last night, when there was a full attendance. Mr A. E. G. Rhodes (president) occupied the chair. Committees were set up to consider the Bills coming before Parliament as follows: — (1) Finance and Legal; (2) Lands; (3) Labour and General; (4) Local Government. The following resolutions were carried unanimously: — (1) "That the Council of the National Association expresses its regret that the 3overninent at the commencement of this session shows a disposition to follow its former practice of refusing to the people's representatives information which should be made public." (2) "That the Council of the National Association thoroughly approves of the action of the leader of the Opposition in demanding that the committee which is to inquire into the Awarua election case should be composed of equal numbers from each side of the Housp, especially as the Premier had stated that the question should be determined apart from party bias." ,
