NG SERVICE AT

ST PAUL'S

The colonial troops which preceded the state procession to St Paul's received a wild ovation.

The procession has just reached Temple Bar, where the Lord Mayor, on horseback, awaited the Queen's arrival. '

"When the procession reached St Paul's a Thanksgiving Service was held, lasting twenty minutes. The colonial and Indian troops met with a grand reception. At various points along the route of the procession the crowd spontaneously sang the National Anthem. The spectacle was a grand success throughout, and was witnessed by over two million persons. A number of troops of the different colonies formed part [of the Queen's body-guard.

Messrs Harmswortb, the proprietors of the Daily Mail, gave a reception to the visiting Premiers. Among the artists engaged were Paderewski, Mdme. Melba, and Miss Ada Crossley. At Birmingham yesterday the Colo-
