AUCKLAND.
AUCKLAND, June 22.
To-night Auckland was ablaze with ; illuminations •and bunting, and the streets were crowded, vehicular traffic being sus- 1 pended. In the morning Ihcre was a •Jubilee procession of citizens to tho •domain. The advance guard comprised ! Cadet Corps, then came seamen from j H.M.S; Goldfinch, old veterans, the pei-nia- j nent force, volunteers, public school j ■children, fire brigades, the Mayor and Commander Ash of the Goldfinch, members of tho City Council, members of the General Assembly, foreign consuls, clergy, local bodies, Trades and Labour Council, Friendly Societies, Eight Hours Leagues, Orange institutions, and New Zealand Natives' Association. The hose reels of the fire brigades and trollies ivifch the Girls' Band of Hope wore splendidly decorated with flowers and greenery. The procession took half an hour to pass a given point, and j • was considerably over a mile in length. The entire route to the Domain from the wharf was decorated and lined with 25,000 people. On reaching the Domain 2dOO children of the higher standards pfc" the public schools sang the Nati&nal Anthem. At the Military Tournament in the Domain, in aid of the Queen's Statue Fund, 15,000 were ! present. The A Battery fired a royal j salute, and the troops a feu de joie. ! .Among those present were Bishop Lenihan with a number of his clergy, and Monsignor -M'Donald. ■■< v The installation of E.W. Bro C. C. ,M'Millan, D.G.M. Designate of the District - Orand Lodge of Auckland, E.C., took place j at a bvilliant Masonic gathering at the Choral Hall. The Auckland Club held a "friends' night," and the Northern Club gave a ball in honour of the event, for which numerous invitations were issued. The illuminations were even better to--Jiight than before, some additional ones coming in. The Auckland Harbour Board has sent a cable message to her Majesty as follows : — • "Auckland Harbour Board tenders loyal . congratulations to your Majesty on attainment of sixtieth year of your glorious reign." Owing to the influx of visitors accommodation is difficult to obtain in Auckland.
