ST MARK'S OPAWA.

The annual meeting: of the church mem? bers of this parish was held on Tuesday evening. The Yen Archdeacon Cholmondeley presided and the meeting was well attended. The Vicar reviewed the past year, touching- on various matters of parochial interest. The churchwardens' report stated that the accoTints showed a better nett result than for the past five years, and this was due to the excellent manner in which the parishioners responded to the appeal for special offerings at the end of the financial year. The receipts from offertories on behalf of general church expenses were larger than last year, but the total receipts fell short of the amount reached during recent years. The accounts, as presented, were adopted. The chairman expressed his obligation to the church officers, and to all who, in various capacities, had assisted in promoting the spiritual and temporal welfare of the parish;' He nominated Mr C. Jones as churchwarden, and the parishioners elected Mr Farrow. The following were elected vestrymen : — Messrs H. P. Murray- Aynsley, F. Andrews, W. Broadbent, E. Garland, W. Jameson, H.Neove, J. Rogers, G-. Scott, H. V. Styche and J. J. Thomson. Mr Walter Ollivier was elected auditor and thanked for his past services. A report on the Sunday School was submitted by Mr F. Andrews. Votes of thanks were then passed to the church officers, choir, Sunday School teachers and other church workers. The business being concluded the proceedings took the form of a social gathering.
