Corporal Banks is head-master of the Lincoln district school. He haß been a member of the Reserve Corps for six years, and at the last New Zealand Rifle Association Meeting finished sixth for ithe championship, holding the highest position gained by any Canterbury competitor at the meeting. He has fired at seven Rifle Association meetings, and has always occupied a creditable position on the prize list. He is a native of Christchurch, and is thirty-seven years of age.
