PROPERTY SALES.
On Saturday Messrs H. Matson and Co. sold by auction, by order of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, one rood of land in Peterborough Street, with cottage, at .£SOO, to Mr H. Cotterill, the mortgagee; 37* perches in Barbadoes Street, with cottage, at .£265 to Mr J. Gilmour; la lr 36p, with buildings, at .£IOO, f o Mr H. Cotterill, the mortgagee. At Timaru, on Saturday, Mr J. Mundell submitted to auction the properties of the late W. Sibbald, by order of the Public Trustee. Sawdon Station," just inside Mackenzie Country, through Burkes Pass, with a homestead at the Pass, was put up as a going concern. The property consisted of 648 acres freehold, 25,500 acres leasehold, with 12,157 sheep^and other stock. The first bid was 33000, and dfilOO bids were exchanged by two persons until .£4500 was reached, and at this figure the property was passed in.
