Oddfellowship. — The half-yearly meeting of the Loyal Huia Lodge of Past Grands, 1.0.0. F!,. M.U., Avas held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Leithfield, on Thursday evening. There Avas a fair attendance, with P.G.M. Bro G. A. Wornall, president, iv the chair. Apologies Avere read from several absent Past Grands. The Purple lecture was given by the President and two brethren received the Purple degree. In connection with the surrender value scheme on the business sheet of the district meeting, the following resolution was carried with oniy one dissentient — " That this meeting of Past Grands is of opinion that the surrender value table, if adopted, would be a great boon to a number of members, and Avould also assist in increasing the total number in the Order,, and that this meeting trusts it will be passed by the District." It Avas also resolved that the present officers should rrema n in office for another tAvelve months. It Avas resolved that the next meeting, to bo held in Waikari, should take place as near the full moon as possible. It is claimed by a Liverpool gentleman that rheumatism in all its stages has been , cured by seaAveed.
