The value of coal alone fell from .262,730,179 in 1894 to .£57,228,213 in 1895, a decrease of over .£5,000,000, although the output was 189,661,362 tons last year, as compared with 158,277,525 tons in the previous year, or an increase of 1,353,837 tons.
