WORK FOR WOMEN.
It is stated that domestic servants are not procurable in Auckland, and that the employers of kbotii' are falling back upon the Labour Burttin, Mr Ferguson, the local agent, has (says the Herald), after some diplomacy and ■vrire-'drawn negotiations, succeeded in getting ivfro girls to go to the country as cooks, at £i a week and found, and passage paid. There seems to bo a growing aversion to domestic service on the part of young women, either from a want of considerate treatment on , the part of masters and mistresses, or from desire for the free and more independent life of a factory girl.
