MELBOURNE, Feb. 20.

Gozoczar has been scratched for the Australian Cap and the Newmarket Handicap.

There was a sensation on the Flemington track this morning when Newhaven fell while doing a gallop. Walter Hickenbothain reports that the horse has sustained no injury. Feb. 21. Heavy rain fell yesterday morning, consequently it was very late when galloping was completed. Hova went remarkably well, also Bloodshot and Fadladeen. When going with the latter Newhaven fell, but this morning showed no ill effects from the accident. Valiant has arrived in charge of Monaghan.

At the Victorian Club last night Valiant was a strong favourite for the Newmarket Handicap at 100 to 11, Ayrshire 100 to 8.
