[Per Press Association.]

AUCKLAND, Feb. 22,

Professor Wallace was one of the examiners of the New Zealand University. The examiners were to have held their meeting next Saturday, in which case the results of the recent examinations would have been telegraphed to the registrai", who is at present in Auckland, on Monday next. It is now possible that Professor Wallace's death will delay the meeting, and that candidates will not get the result? as early as was expected.

Lionel R. Isherwood has been arrested here on the charge of obtaining .£4O by false pretences from Stephen Godfrey and W. M. Barnes. He was brought up at the Police Court to-day and remanded to Wellington. *
