CANTERBURY CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee •pf the Canterbury Cricket Association was held last night at Warner's Hotel ; present — Messrs W. H. Wynn- Williams (president, in the chair); F. Wilding, J. Wright, F. C. Gerard, H. J. Beswick, H. C.Ridley, G-. A. U. Tapper, JR. I). Harman, H. D. Carter; C. E. Smith and F. C. Raphael, honorary secretary. It was decided to postpone all matches for next Saturday, on account of the Queensland match, and on Saturday fortnight, on account of the Wellington match. The necessary arrangements were made for welcoming the Queensland visitors, and for driving them out to Belfast and Kaiapoi on Thursday. An offer wa 1 - also received from Mr A. E. G. Ehodes to ehter.ain~.he team on their way. The offer was accepted with thanks. The Alfred Woods Company had invited them to be present at the performance of Hands Across t.he Sea, and the travelling agent of the team had accepted this offer. It was further resolved to take the team to Sumner on Sunday, and if possible to have afternoon tea some where in the open. A vote of thahks^raß passed to Messrs G. J. Smith and T. __. Taylor, M.H.E/s, for their services in getting the public offices closed on Friday.

It was resolved that for grown-up people admission.- to the ground should ; be one shilling and, icor.; schoolboys and children _i'_-peni>e till ! ha^-past four in the afternoon, after which time the price would be lowered to sixpence all round. The grand stand prices were fixed at one shilling for the old stand and sixpence for the new. On the motion of Mr Smith, seconded by Mr Tapper, it was resolved that the Association would subscribe £1 ls towards the testimonial to Mr Barge, who had rendered yeoman service during the past five years in connection with the Junior Cup, matches. The President arid Treasurer were authorised to sign cheques .during the absence of 'the Secretary -in Sydney, arid the proceed-ings-then terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the Chairman.
