\ H.M.S. Lizard left on Saturday after■y noon for Wellington, and will remain there ■ I till the anniversary regatta on January 1 23. There, was quite a clearing 1 out of coasting vessels on Saturday, the Huia, Annie HUI, Morning Light and Jessie Nicoll putting to sea. There was quite an animated scene on the . .steamers' wharf at Lyttelton on Saturday night on arrival of thb steamer Penguin: , She did not get in till 10.30 p.m. and as ' : she brought a ve_ry large number of returning excursionists and had also a 'large . , number of outgoing passengers waiting to J/ take up their quarters, the scene was a /'•■•■ somewhat lively one.
