Tho second day's, racing of the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting was held to-day at Ellerslie. The weather was all that could be desired, and as a consequence the attendance was large and brilliant, and must have numbered 12,000. Tho racing was most interesting and the sum of _>15,077 was passed through the totalisator, which, together with the first day's figures, totals _.25,515, and no donbt these will be records lor the meeting when the three days' racing are completed, both as regards attendance and speculation. Doris jumped away in front, and never being headed won in tiio easiest possible manner by two lengths from Quickfire, v/ith Liliie three lengths away third. Time —lmin 29£ sec. Dividend— £2 12s.

Then Nestor commenced to draw up inch by inch, and won by a length, with Tire eight lengths away third, Day Star three lengths further off fourth ancl Dauntless close up last. Time — 2min 40sec. Bouquet was quickest on her legs and led to within half a furlong of the straight. Here Gold Medallist, whohad been working his way through the ruck, took command, and coming right away, won by five lengths from St Evelyn, with Canopus closo up third. Time — lmin 3_scc. Pegasus and Haria were the first to show in front, and were iv command as tho field swept past the stand, with Antares, Mars and Fabulist following in the order named. Haria was in front as they ran through the plantation to the back stretch, but when the cutting was reached Fabulistand Mantle had got on terms, aud the three raced together to the top turn, while St Laura commenced to move up. Immediately afterwards Haria retired, and St Laura, heading Fabulist at the end of the lawn rails, went on and won by two lengths, with Pegasus third, while Mantle, Mars, Haria and Panoply followed in the order named, and Quickfire was last.
