NEW YEAE HONOURS.

[Per Press Association. | LONDON, Jan. 1

The London Gazette issued to-day contains the following New Tear honours: — Sir Joseph Lister, Bart., has 'been elevated to Ihe peerage. Sir "VV. St John Brodrick and Sir J. H. Kenuaway, Bart., both members of the House of Commons, have been created Privy Councillors. Mr "W. Conynnbain Greene, British Resident in the Transvaal, has been made a Commissioner of the Bath. Mr Frederick "Wills', of the firm of tobacco manufacturers, and Mr Elliott Lees, M.P. for Birkenhead, have been created Baronets. Mr George Turner Premier of Victoria, has been created X.C.M Gr. fourteen knighthoods have also been bestowed.
