RIFLE SHOOTING.

B BATTERY v. B BATTERY.

A rifle match took place early this morning, on the Bromley range, between teams representing tho B Battery (Dunedin) and the E Battery (Gliristchurch). The conditions were ten men h. side, seven shots each at 200, 500 and 600 yards. The B Battery won by 54 points. The weather was fairly good, but the wind was very shifty at the long ranges. The following were the scores : —

B Battery — Lieutenant Morris, 200 yds 30, 500 yds 24, 600 yds 14, total 68 : Gunner Turner 25, 21, 12—58; Corporal M'Millan 28, 27, 25— SO ; Gunner Jones 29, 19, 18— 66; Sergeant SteArart 34, 22, 18—74; Gunner Davies 32, 25, 8 — 65 ; Gunner Logan 25, 21, 5 — 51 ; Gunner M Lean 25, 25, 17—67 ; Sergeant "West 29, 20, 19—68 ; Corporal Willis 31, 13, 9—53. Total 650.

E Battery— Corporal Lester 26, 21/ 29— 76 ; Gunner Lezard 25, 14, 14 — 53 ; Gunner Menzies 19, 22, 14—55 ; Gunner Turner 25, 20, 12—57 ; Sergeant Gropp 29, 25, 14—68 ; Gunner Sharp, 26, 21, , 8 — 55 ; SergeantMajor Trcleaven, 32, 19,' 10— 61 ; Qnarter-master-Sergeant Taylor 35, 22, 7—64 ; Serjeant Leo 2.4, 13, 11 — 481 Average for one man absent, 09. Total 590.
