WOOLSTON SCHOOL.
. The annual distribution of prizes to the scholars of the Woolston; school took place 1 yesterday. The prizes in Standards 1., 11., and 111., were presented in the morning by Mr Anderson, si member of the committee, and those in Standards IV., V., VI., and VII., in the evening by Mr J. P. Eichardson, chairman of the committee. Owing 1 to tho want of funds, the committee was unable to give attendance prizes. The Rev TV". Scorgie gave a short address. The following is the prize list : — Standard VII. — Sewing: Upper — Mary Lowry 1, Trances Off wood 2 ; Lower — Lizzie Luxton (and drawing) 2, Nellie Jory (and merit) 2. Drawing : Mechanica — Sandie M'Neil (and freehand 1) and James Eennie equal 1, Stanley Bailey (and merit) 3 ; freehand— Norman Francis 3. Standard VI. — Sewing — Lucy Luxton (and drawing) 1, Millie Harper 2. Drawing — Annie Martin (and merit) 1, Robert Burgess 2. Marks — Alexander Neave and Nellie Wotten. Domestic economy — Lucy Luxton, teacher's prize. Merit — Willie Thomas, Laura Bryant, Olive Harper, Reena Hutton, George Jory, Alice Fisher and Lily Chislett. Standard V. — Sewinjj : Sarah Boss 1, Millis Elbo^i 2. Drawing: Eichard Martin 1, Lily Hopkins 2. Marks : Eobert Stace and Amy Franklin. Merit : Thomas Aylward, Dixon Anderson, Ernest Millard, William Stanton, Percy Harper, Ernest Wicks, Euby Eeeve, Stella Sparkes, Jessie Maxwell, Daisy Yeatman, Nellie* Toms, Eva Wolfreys, Jessie Hounsell and Willie Harvey. Teacher's prizes for oval answering : Willie Thomas and Carrie Henley. Standard. IV. — Sewing : Hilda Broadhurst 1, Nellie Smith 2. Drawing (boys) : Richard Joughin ; (girls) : Ethel Wilson. Marks : William Hutton (and merit), Eae Eobertson (and merit). Merit: Elizabeth Haliam, Gertie Dann, Elsie Spreadbury, Winnie Eeeve, Harry Boatwood, Frank Harvey, William Nelson, Leslie Turvey, Ethel Stanlon.'Hari'y Biel, Eeuben Trewern, Olive Proctor and Thomas Sherwood. Standard 111. — Sewing : Elizabeth Neave (and merit) 1, Harriet Wass 2. Drawing : Willie Martin (and merit) 1, Harry Beck 2. Marks: David Sturrock and Hilda Eobertson. Merit: Harold Eound, Hugh Nelson, Elsie Anderson, Eichard King, Eetta Scorgie (and marks), Muriel Linzey, Lily Giniblett and Adele Ozanne. Standard II. — Sowing: Bessie Praser 1, Bertha Millard 2. Drawing : Henry Wisker 1, Fanny Martin 2. Marks : Charles Smith and Mary Harvey. Merit : George Bradley, Arthur Stanton, Willie Betiumont, Ernest Green, Ellis Harper, James Martin, Tom Burgess, Cyril Cockburn and Harry Day. Standard I. — Sewing: Violet Haliam 1 and merit, Martha Reeves 2. Drawing.: Willie Elliot 1, May Stanton 2. Merit: Ivy Green, Nellie Percy, Kandall Griffin, James Turner, Henry Marra, Albert Smith, James Hawkins, Willie Graham and Evelyn Barson. Prizes were also given by Mr Anderson for recitation to Daisy Marquett 1, Hilda Eobertson 2, Ernest Papps 3. A second prize was also given to William Cunningham for a Scotch recitation.
