MR T. E. TAYLOE. ; Mr T. E. Taylor was born in Kirton, Lincolnshire, and is thirty-four years of i age. His family emigrated to this colony in 1873, and settled in Christchurch. ■ When thirteen years of ago he entered ■ the office of Messrs J. M. Hey wood and Co., , and while still a young man his abilities ; earned for him the position of accoun- • tant and managing dark to that firm. He is principally known as one of the champions and pioneers of the prohibition . movement ; but his wido sympathies cause him. to support many advanced reforms, i He was a candidate for the Christchurch , seat at the by-election, and was very nearly i successful. He is full of energy and determination, and shows great promise as a debater.
