■ ■» CHEISTCHUECH. Monday, Dec. 7. (Before Mr H. E. Webb, J.P.) Drunkenness. — A charge against Maggie Wickham, who is undergoing medical treatment in the hospital, was remanded till Friday. Horse at Large. — John Williams was charged with allowing a horse to wander on Cambridge Terrace. Accused stated that he left his horse and cart in a yard, with the wheels locked. In some way the horse got out on to Cambridge Terrace, and was ' taken charge of by the police. SergeantMajor Mason did not press the charge, which was dismissed. Masters and Apprentices Act. — Michael Leonard Heslip, an apprentice to Messrs Maine Bros, bootmakers, was charged with refusing to carry out the lawful orders of his employer. Mr Franks appeared for Messrs Maine Bros, and said that defendant had resumed work; also that Messrs Maine Bros had no desire to press the charge if thelad's subsequent conduct was satisfactory. The Bench adjourned the case for a week to see whether the defendant continued to behave himself.
