An old man named Edmund Beckett, sixty-eight years of age, dieel suddenly at his residence, Creek Bioad, Linwood, at 11.40 a.m. to-day. He had been working in his garden* and went inside to wash himself, intending to go to Christuhurch, when lie complained of a pain in his heart, and expired in a few minutes. mm _ mmm^ __— «_
