Mails close for the following places as under, subjeot tc the necessary alterations: — Thursday, Dec. 3. For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, 8 p.m. ; guard's van, 9.15 p.m. train. Friday, Dec. 4. For Northern Ports, Australian colonies, via. Sydney, also Fiji, Hawaiian Islands, British Colombia, Canada and United States, connecting with Miowera, leaving Sydney on Dec. 12, per Manapouri, at 3 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.15 p.m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 6.25 p.m. ; late fee letters, 6.40 p.m.; guard's van 7.45 p.m. train. Saturday, Dec. 5. For Australian Colonies, via Bluff, Ceylon, India, China, &c. ; and also United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, via Suez, per express, connecting with Tarawera, at 10.30 a.m. ; late fee letters, 10.40 a.m. ; mail van, 11 a.m. train. Due London Jan. 19. Mails for Fiji, per Upolu, close at Auckland at 4 p.m. on Dec. 4. Mails for Earatonga and Tahiti, per Taupo, close at Auckland on Dec. 5, at 7.30 p.m. Mails for West Coast Sounds close at Bluff on Dec. 5. Mails for Noumea and Fiji close at Sydney on Dec. 9. . Mails for Australia, &c, close at Auckland, per Monowai, on her arrival from San Francisco. Note. — The letter-carriers' half-holiday this week will be on Friday, instead of Thursday.
