CORRESPONDENCE.
. ♦ STATE SCHOOLS. TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — The subjoined paragraph, •which appeared in your columns a few days back, is so scandalously and notoriously untrue as affecting myself, that I hope you will allow me to say that I think you must have been led into error when you state that the letter ernaDates from a State school-teacher. I don't believe there is any State school-teacher who would write it, and I feel sure that they would, one arid all, repudiate it. Their good judgment has, I believe, led them to abstain from electioneering hitherto, and I am sure the appeal will have no effect. — I am, &c, W. ROLLESTON. A State school-teacher writes :—Fellowteachers, you must be busy during the next few days influencing voters in favour of the paity who have snpported the State system in the past. Remember that Mr Rolleston and his party reduced the pay? ment from working to strict average, wJhjle. the present Government have generqusly paid us on the working average. Mr Rolleston and his friends also tried to stop the free education at Standard IV. They are also in favour of denominationalism and Catholic claims. Remembering all these you will easily know for whom to vote on election day.
