A BITTER DISPUTE ENDED.
WITHDRAWAL OF PROHIBITION CHARGES. [Per Press Association/! NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 1. An acrimonious newspaper correspondence between the Rev C. H. Garland and the President of the Licensed Victuallers' Association, respecting a charge against two hotelkeepers here", has terminated, Mr Garland publishing a letter admitting that the charges were founded on hearsay . evidence, that he cannot prove them, and that he regrets having made them. The matter has been exciting intense interest here, and the opponents of prohibition art much elated at the result.
