A New Strawberry.— Specimens of a new strawberry, known as Laxton's Noble, are on view at tho shop of Mr W. I*. Chudley, Colombo Street. It is an early fruiting variety, and has gained much popularity. Good Templary— The Desire of Sydenham Lodge held its usual meeting on Thursday last, in the Sydenham Chambers. One candidate was initiated. Bro Wilson, L.D.G.C.T., installed tho following officers for the ensuing quarter :— C.T., Bro Forest; V.T., Sister Sullivan ; secretary, Sister lh. Forsey; financial secretary, Sister Hay; S.J.T., Sister Forsey, jun.; treasurer, Sister Forest; C, Bro Fillingham ; M._ Sister Drinkwater • D.M., Sister Goodwin ; P.0.T., Sister Forsey. After reports on finance aud appointment of committees, the Lodge went into harmony, and a verypleasant evening was closed at 10 o'clock
