Dr Corbin replied that he was so disgusted, and that he thought the greatest good to the greatest number was far more to be considered. He did not interfere because he hoped that Dr Napier would kill the patient and so damn himself for ever. He thought that if one case could raise the indignation of the sluggish public many cases would be saved.
