A New Store.— Messrs D. H. Brown and Son have just added to their storage accommodation at their Brookfield flourmills at Addington. The additions consist of a new store, which has been let to Messrs Friedlander Bros, for the wool season. The structure, which was designed by Mr E. W. England, jun., is of iron, with concrete sleeper walls and foundations. It is 154 ft by 54ft, and has three dog-tooth lights , running its full length. The floor is of 1-Jin material, raised to the height of railway trucks, and four doors open on. to a railway siding which runs the whole length of the stores, which now reach 200 ft. it is capable of storing 25,000 sacks of grain. A two-story front has been added to the old store adjoining 1 , and a verandah covers the whole length, whilst the upper floor has been provided with shoots, so that loading can be carried on in any weather. Mr J. Hammett was entrusted with the contract. Elephants are fond of gin, but will not touch champagne. Other jewellers can copy S.
