Complimentary Concert to Mr H. Wells.— A concert is to be tendered to Mr H. Wells by the combined musical associations and his many friends previous to his departure on a visit to England. The Motett Society having The Messiah in rehearsal, it has now been arranged to extend the organisation, by. the addition of tho members of the combined societies, and to make it a complimentary concert to Mr Wells, under his musical direction. There will be a chorus of over 200 voices, whilst • the full strength of the Musical Union orchestra, with the assistance of others, will be led by Mr F. M. Wallace, who has offered his assistance to Mr Wells. Mr R. Trist Searell lias undertaken tho duties of organist, and a list of soloists is now being arranged from amongst the many offers that have been received. The oratorio will be given in the Opera House on Dec. 9.
