HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARDS.

THE ELECTIONS. At a meeting of the Sydenham Borough Council held last evening, the Mayor (Mr J. Brown), Councillors Murray, M'Millan, Halley, Hadfield, Caygill, Hirtzell, Manhire, Bell, Cutler, Large and Muffett being present, Councillors Caygill and Muffett were nominated to represent the Council on the Hospital Board, and Councillor Caygill was elected. For the seat on the Charitable Aid Board, Councillors Manhire and M'Millan were nominated, and Councillor Manhire was returned. The representatives of the Borough Councils of Lyttelton, Kaiapoi, Eangiora and St Albans met in the Provincial Council Chambers yesterday afternoon at 3 p.m. ; present — Messrs F. Waymouth (St Albans), J. T. Brice (Lyttelton), S. R. Webb (Lyttelton), T. Keir (Rangiora), E. Feldwick (Kaiapoi), W. J. Neate (St Albans). Mr W. Moor was elected as representative of the above-named bodies on the Hospital Board by 4 votes to 3, as against Mr S. R. Webb. On the motion of Mr E. Feldwick, seconded by Mr W. J. Neate, Mr Adam Chalmers was unanimously elected to represent the same districts on the Charitable Aid Board.
