Eegulations for the first election of members of the Canterbury Agricultural College .are gazetted. Messrs B. Thomson, E. Gillam, H. J. Evans, J. H. Morris and D. M'Leod are appointed rangers under the Animals Protection ' and Fisheries Conservation Acts for South Canterbury.

Mr Alfred White is gazetted a member of the Licensing Committee for Eangitata, and Mr W. H. Williams to be ranger of Crown lands in Canterbury.

Mr P. Kippenberger is recognised as German Consul at Christchurch.

Mr S. G. Smith, Dunedin, has been appointed a Justice of the Peace. Mr D. Barron is gazetted Commissioner of Crown Lands for Southland, Mr J. W. A. Marchant for Wellington and Mr W. Gr. Murray for Westland.

Tlie various Inspectors of Stock are appointed enumerators tinder the Agricultural and Pastoral Statistics Act, 1895, as follows .- —Mr E. Clyton, Auckland ; Mr J. Druininond, Hawke's Bay ; Mr A. C. Blundell, Wanganui and Manawatu ; Mr W. Miller, Wairarapa ; Mr W. GK Kees, Wellington ; Mr J. Moore, Marlborough ; Mr W.N. Campbell, Nelson ; Mr V. A. Hiddleston, Westland; Mr R. P. Holderness, Canterbury ; Mr T. A. Fraser, Otago ; Mr H. T. Turner, Southland. The Imperial officers' decoration has been issued to 'Major John Ellis, unattached active list New Zealand Voluntees, who has a service of twenty-four years ona hundred days. The Gazette announces that G. M. Park, late postmaster at Taupo, has been dismissed from the public service. Sittings of the Supreme Court for the year 1897, as fixed by the judges, are gazetted.. Amended regulations prescribing the fees to be paid the president and members of the Court of Arbitration and the chairman and members of the Board of Conciliation are gazetted as follows : — For every clay's absence from home for the purpose of attending sittings of the Court or Board, including the day of departure from home but not the clay returning thither, to the president and each member of the Court of Arbitration £2 2s, to the chairman and each member of the Board of Conciliation <£1 10s. in addition to the foregoing, money actually paid or incurred in respect of fare will be refunded.

The Gazette announces the acceptance of the resignation of Lieutenant Sandford of his commission as adjutant of the Canterbury Infantry Battalion Volunteers as from Sept. 26, 1896, and also the Governor's approval of that officer being reinstated in the Christchurch City Guards Rifle Volunteers, with ■ his former rank and seniority in that corps.
