ELECTORAL.

[Per Press Association.] MARTON, Oct. 19. Mr G. Hutchison, a candidate for Patea, addressed a crowded meeting at Hunterville on Saturday night. He condemned the proposal to refer the liquor question to the colonial vote. He claimed that the statistics of the Land Department proved that the bulk of the selectors were in favour of freehold, and asserted that the financial position of the Government was such that the country was already committed to a second million loan. He condemned the Administration. Throughout the meeting was lively, and there were a great many questions. The candidate received a hearty vote of thanks. WELLINGTON, Oct. 19. Mr Duthie has announced that he has definitely decided not to offer himself for re-election for Wellington City, on account of his health and the pressure of business. The following tenders for printing electoral rolls have been accepted: — City of Christchurch, Lyttelton Times Company • Avon, H. A. Cooper; Riccarton, T. E. Fraser. ______ _________
