GENERAL MEETING.

A general meeting of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held this afternoon. The President, Mr R; Heaton Rhodes, occupied the chair, and twenty-one members were present. The following gentlemen were elected members of the Association :—Messrs R. Blunden, T. Harrison, W. P. Studholme, A. R. Robertson, F. A. Cook, A. Ford, A. E. Cooke, Dr Mickle, J. T. Ford, junior, W. B. Cowlishaw, A. A. M'Kellar, H. Washbourne, junior; H. Cotterill, V. Musgrave, Dr J. C. Palmer, C. H. Lascelles, A. S. Otterson, E. S. Vernon, G. Grey Russell, E. V. Palmer and H. D. Carter, Mr A. Kaye said he thought that the committee should elect members, and thus avoid the necessity of calling a general meeting for the purpose. Mr R. M. Macdonald gave notice of a motion for the annual meeting for altering the rules so as to give effect to Mr Kaye's suggestion.
