TUBERCULOSIS AND THE RONTGEN RAYS.

The Eontgen rays are being- taken in hand by the experimenters, and MM. Lorter and Genoud have investigated the effect of the rays on tuberculosis, and although yet incomplete, their experiments seem to point to the rays as a possible remedy for tttis dreaded disease. Eight guinea-pigs were inoculated with the virus of tuberculosis, three of. which were .exposed for an hour daily for some three weeks to the influence oi' the Eontgen radiations, the other five being left untreated. In these latter the usual effects of the virus were produced; but those exposed to the rays exhibited no ill effects whatever/and are stated to have increased in weight.
