POLITICAL NOTES.

[From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 3. THE WOOLBTON TANNERY. I learn from Mr Joyce that an uneasiness exists in the minds of some of tho employes in the Woolston Tannery, respecting the probable sacrifice of that institution. On the best authority, I can state that the. Assets Eealisation Board has no control over the Tannery. Its entire management and disposal is with the directorate of the Bank of New Zealand, and as the Tannery is a good paying concern, any rival institution wishing to take it over will have to pay the full market value.
