During the hearing of the City of Melbourne Bank cases, .one witness stated that he was the auditor of the Standard Quarrying Company, which was really the bank. He waa also a shareholder and director of the General Assets Company. In the former capacity he never saw a balance-sheet, and in the latter he never contributed anything to tho capital or paid calls. CANNIBALISM. PORT DARWIN, Oct. 3. The cutter Yacht Lizzie has arrived from New Guinea. Her officers report that while the crew were ashore they were attacked by natives, who killed and ate three of them. A BANK CALL. HOBART, Oct. 3.
