[Per Press Association.] MELBOURNE, Sept. 12. The St Simon stallions Hautbrion and Gique, and the mare Mericlean, recently purchased by Mr S. Hordern, have arrived by the Nineveh in splendid condition. SYDNEY, Sept. 12. Donald M'Kinnon has been scratched for all engagements, and Chris for the First Hurdles. The weather is fine and hot for the first day of the Australian Jockey Club's Spring Meeting.

The dead-heaters ran together the whole way, there being never more than a length difference at any stage of the journey. Most of the spectators thought that Rebel won by a short neck. A protest, on the ground that Rebel was bored, was dismissed. The owners agreed to divide the stake. Time— 3min 14sec. Dividend— Rebel £1 ss, Invader £1 13s. KENSINGTON HANDICAP, of 50 soys.
