[Per Press Association.! LONDON, Sept 10. The Sporting Life declares* that the Australian cricketers will divide the sum of .£IO,OOO net. ' LINWOOD CRICKET CLUB. The annual meeting of the Linwood Cricket Club was held at the Eoyal George Hotel last evening. Mr W. Martin presided, and there was a good, attendance of members. The Committee's report stated that the club had a membership of forty. The balance-sheet showed that the receipts had been =£14 8s and . the expenditure .£l3 11s 3d, leaving a credit balance of 16s 9d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : President, Mr A. Marshall ; vice-presidents, Messrs T. Lyons, T. Danke, W. A. Cooke, G. Peacock, J. Connal, J. Tisch, J. R. Brunt, J. Irvine, sen., J. Hiorns ; honorary secretary, Mr L, Taylor; honorary treasurer, Mr K. Kite; committee, Messrs G. Mills, F. Townend, D. Fleming, B. Burson, F Lightfoot and S. Poore; selection committee, Messrs F. Townend, G. Mills and D. Fleming, with the captains of the elevens; match committee, -Messrs K. Kite and D. Fleming and the Secretary ; .custodian, Mr A. Taylor. The subscription for the coming season was fixed at 7s 6d for those ever eighteen and ss. for those tinder. It was decided to have as the colours of the club a black cap with the initials in white. The opening of the season was fixed for Saturday, Oct. 3. , The new cricket pitch has.been com-pleWd'at^Kaiap'ojLP.avk,;and-ls "expected to : befit for matches in eight -or nine .days.In the meantime the members', are having active practice nn the pitch laid down for that purpose. On Thursday afternoon some thirty players were practising.
