City Council Election. — A meeting of the supporters (numbering about one hundred) of Mr W. H. Cooper, who is a candidate for the City Council (North-east Ward), was held in the Foresters' Hall, Oxford Terrace. Mr Cadwallader. was voted to the chair, and briefly introduced Mr Cooj>er, who spoke on .several matters connected with, the Council, and after several questions had been answered a vote of confidence was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks, proposed by Mr W. H. Cooper, to the Chairman closed the meeting.
