A PLUCKY ATTEMPT.

Viscount Kelburne, eldest son and heir of his Excellency the Governor, who is a sublieutenant in H.M.S, Alexandra, distinguished himself during the recent naval manoeuvres by an attempt to Bave life. On July 20 The Times correspondent with the Alexandra wrote as follows :—" I regret to have to record an accident in torpedo-boat No. 65, by which her signalman lost his life. He appears to have slipped overboard backward, and being in sea-boots could not keep afloat. Thw sublieutenant in charge of the boat, "Viscount Kelburne, most pluckily jumped after him, but his gallant attempt to save a valuable life waa unsuccessful, the man sinking when his would-be rescuer was within a few yards of him." :
