POLITICAL NOTES.

[Fbom Our Correspondent.") WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. THE ORDER OF BUSINESS. The Estimates will be further considered to-morrow, and it is understood that an attempt will be made to finish the remaining classes. As the lands, agricultural and railway estimates are amongst those undealt with it is, hardly possible, unless the House sits very late, that the Estimates will be finished at one sitting. '. RAILWAY RATES ON ONIONB. Representations have been made to the Minister of Railways that the rates charged for the carriage of onions are higher than those charged tor similar produce. H6 has decided to put onions' in Class E, where they will only be charged single rate instead of rate and half as previously. A HARD-WORKED PREMIER. The Premier has alway3 been a hard worker, but the demands on his time and energies this session have, perhaps, been greater than during any previous session. On two or three occasions hist week he was compelled to miss his lunch on account of deputations waiting on him at the time when he usually leaves for this meal. On one occasion last week ho had a oup of tea brought into the House, as he had been kept busy from the time of the rising of the Banking Committee till the House met. Members were inclined to be slightly merry when it was . known that the exhibition which Mr Seddon went to open at Palmerston Noith is one in connection with a religious body, but those whom I have spoken to agree that it would be much better, if the Premier of tener took a holiday. . ; MISCELLANEOUS. Mr Guinness's friends are confident that he is to be appointed Attorney-General.
